The Audit Committee Institute
Recognizing the challenges that audit committees face in meeting their
demanding responsibilities, KPMG US office created the Audit Committee
Institute ("ACI") in 1999 to serve as a resource for audit committee
members and senior management. Our primary mission is to communicate with
audit committee members and enhance their awareness, commitment, and ability
to implement effective audit committee processes.
Wholly sponsored by KPMG, the ACI provides complementary guidance and
increases awareness for corporate audit committee members. Board members
can turn to the ACI at any time for help and advice or to share knowledge.
The ACI's initiatives include semiannual roundtables, publication of
Audit Committee Quarterly, conference and board presentations, a toll-free
hotline, periodic distribution of time-sensitive information, and our
Web site. During the past three years, the ACI has conducted actively
network with audit committee members and has sponsored hundreds
of workshops, presentations, and issue-oriented meetings.
